Meridien Research is continuing to grow with the addition of a new Principal Investigator, Rekha Gandhi, MD, at their Maitland clinic, 2300 Maitland Center Parkway.
Dr. Gandhi is a board certified neurologist. She has more than 10 years of clinical research experience with a focus on neurology – specifically epilepsy. “Having practiced general clinical neurology for six years as well as completing a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology/Epilepsy, I have experience with a wide range of neurological conditions and their treatments as well as those conditions for which there is no treatment yet,” Dr. Gandhi explained. “Therefore taking on new studies for neurological diseases would fit my knowledge base.”
“I enjoy learning about the trials and how they work, their methodology and new drug indications. I hope to also one day be a part of helping an effective drug come to fruition and see it brought to the market,” she said.
Meridien Research Site Director, Ginny McClanahan is excited to have Dr. Gandhi join the team. “With Dr. Gandhi, we will have enhanced abilities to expand further into neurological indications. Dr. Gandhi’s ability to focus on neurological disease trials will bring more research opportunities to senior residents of Central Florida.”
“Meridien Research is continuing to add experienced Investigators at each of our clinics,” Carlos E. Orantes, Meridien Research CEO explained. “By adding specialists like Dr. Gandhi, we are preparing for future growth and diversification. Her neurology experience makes her ideal for Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, migraine and multiple sclerosis research studies in the future.”
Dr. Gandhi earned her Bachelor of Science at Emory University and her Doctorate at St. George’s University School of Medicine. She is also a competitive dancer in ballet, classical and Indian fusion dance.
